Indoor gardeners can find more of their favorite plants in the Extension Horticulture Plant Toolbox. Across the US, interest in houseplants surged during the COVID-19 pandemic and shows no signs of slowing down. Houseplants, like the Pilea peperomioides shown here, are especially popular among young people, many of whom are new to gardening. We are adding more houseplants to the Plant Toolbox to meet the demand for trustworthy information on how to care for your indoor plants.
The Plant Toolbox Is Your Houseplant Headquarters

Starting with recommendations from Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteer Diane Goodwin (Chatham Co.), EMG volunteer Cindy Christian (Pitt Co.) is improving the houseplant listings on the Plant Toolbox. New and expanded pages devoted to many popular houseplants, including Aglaonema, Begonia, Dieffenbachia, Peperomia and Philodendron, are now available and provide houseplant enthusiasts with more information to keep their plants healthy and thriving. Cindy and EMG volunteer Barbara Smith (Craven Co.) have updated the Hoya listings.
