Learn to grow edibles and ornamentals, including everything from soil cultivation to design, plant selection, lawn and garden care, pest management, and more.
Take the complete series or take just the courses you want. Each non-credit course is complete in itself. There are no prerequisites, and the classes can be taken in any order. You will have hands-on activities (done in your landscape and garden), videos, slides, each botanical name is linked to its profile in the Plant Toolbox, a roll-over glossary, and lifetime access to the Top Hat interactive version of the North Carolina Extension Gardener Handbook. You can download a one-page summary of the series.
These are not Extension Master Gardener℠ certification courses. If you are interested in becoming an Extension Master Gardener volunteer, please contact the Extension Master Gardener Coordinator in your county for information on training requirements and volunteer opportunities.
