Gardens, Lawns and Landscapes Series

Based on the Extension Gardener Handbook, these classes cover everything from soils to edibles, pests to weeds, herbs to trees, and most things in between.

Plant Identification and Use Series

Created in partnership with Longwood Gardens, these courses introduce you to the language of botany, using popular and familiar landscape plants as tools to learn Plant ID. These courses also cover how to use the plants in the landscape. We also now offer a course on plant propagation. There are two versions of these classes, instructor-led and self-study.


  • Instructor-Led course:
    • $189 – General Public ($179 early-bird pricing available)
    • $169- Green industry professionals (government employees, educators, students, landscapers, etc.)
    • $98 – Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers, Extension Master Naturalist volunteers, and volunteers at the JC Raulston Arboretum.
    • $59 – Extension Professionals
  • Self-Study:
    • $99 – General public
    • $89 – Extension professionals, green industry professionals, Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers, Extension Master Naturalist volunteers, and volunteers at the JC Raulston Arboretum.
